Sofia. “The documents included in the Miscellany “Macedonian Issue and Bulgaria – Confidential Documents 1950-1967” are not directed in any way against the Republic of “Macedonia”. These are our documents for the identity of the population that inhabits the Pirin part of “Macedonia”, which is an inseparable part of the Republic of Bulgaria. There is no negative intent in these documents; it is just an attempt to show them to the Greek people, because most of them do not know anything about the relations between Bulgaria and former Yugoslavia regarding the “Macedonia” issue,” Dr. Boryana Buzhashka, director of Archives State Agency, said in an interview for Focus News Agency.
“I am surprised by the negative tone in tone in the “Macedonian” media regarding “Macedonian Issue and Bulgaria – Confidential Documents 1950-1967” – “Organised campaign against “Macedonia”, or statements that we are “concealing the truth”, or “trying to cover up the real identity of Macedonians”, or even “these documents are against the “Macedonian state”… This is not even close to the truth. These documents are not against the Republic of “Macedonia”,” Boryana Buzhashka explained.
Buzhashka added that the Bulgarian Archives State Agency has an excellent cooperation with the “Macedonian” State Archive and its Director – Zoran Todorovski.
