Pregnant Olympias sat before Philip
Giant bronze figure of a pregnant woman was placed in the square of “Karpoš uprising” today which is the area between the Stone Bridge and the Old Skopje Bazaar. This is the fourth piece of the monument which is part of the fountain, and which occupies a central place on the square near the church “Sv. Dimitrija”.
Like the previous three, and this figure also symbolizes motherhood, as a pregnant woman with hand over her stomach. According to the design of the fountain, which is the work of Valentina Stefanovska in one of four maternal characters is conveyed character Olympias, mother of Alexander the Great.
