Wrong Interpretation of Balkan Wars by FYROM’s Academic Blaže Ristovski
Blaže Ristovski, senior academic of the so-called “Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences” (“MANU”), proclaims material reasons as the only factor preventing imaginary “emancipation” of Serbs, Bulgarians and Greeks of Geographic Macedonia into “Macedonians” (“Makedonci”). According to this simplistic Marxist outlook on history, it was solely superior material and financial power and organization of Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria which prevented emergence of a separate Slavic “Macedonian” people as factor in those historical events. Ristovski’s statement is given after symposium sponsored by “MANU” on the 100 years retrospective on Balkan wars.
