Greece, the European champion of 2005, defeated easily FYROM with 86-54 in the opening day of the Eurobasket 2009 in Poland. The game was proved to be rather easy for the Greek team from the very first minutes where the Greek players started too strong with result Greece to jump to an 18-5 lead. FYROM who was frustrating, especially in the 1st half could score rarely only with long distance 3-point shootings. Greece showcased its superior team level and depth and very convincingly beat FYROM by over 30 points. Jonas Kaslauskas found the opportunity to give some playing time to all his players since the game became a practice for the most difficult games who are coming in the upcoming days.

Despite the strictly Athletic part, some FYROM’s fans proved they have absolutely nothing to do with sport events by showing their true racist colours like the following one.
