According to a Media Report of Athanasios Ellis from ANT1 TV, Greece and FYROM privately are close to a compromise in reference to the naming dispute.

The  possible solution appears to be “Vardaska Makedonija” or a variant of it. The proposal is expected to meet Greek acceptance, since it doesnt cross the “red line” that Greece has set on.  A composite appellation, with a geographical qualifier, to be used erga omnes.

On the other hand, always according to the Media Report, Skopje is under strong pressure from US and EU in order to come closer towards a solution with Greece.  According to the same source, the name dispute is estimated to be resolved during this summer.
