New ‘immortal’ exhibition on Alexander the Great

An exciting new exhibition titled ‘The Immortal Alexander the Great’ will be exhibited in the Hermitage Amsterdam from 18 September 2010 until 18 March 2011. Spanning a period of almost 2500 years, over 350 masterpieces will be exhibited, exploring Alexander the Great’s journey to the East, and the influence of Hellenism upon the vast foreign lands he encountered. It will be the first time any Dutch museum has devoted an entire exhibition to Alexander the Great, establishing greater interest in the study of Ancient Greece.
Hermitage Amsterdam is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesdays to 8 pm. Closed on January 1st and December 25th
