Ο γνωστός Ιστορικός Ernst Badian πέθανε την 1η Φεβρουαρίου σε ηλικία 85 ετών. Είχε γεννηθεί στην Βιέννη το 1925 και το 1938 μετανάστευσε με την οικογένεια του στις ΗΠΑ. Δίδαξε επί σειρά ετών στο Harvard University, από το οποίο συνταξιοδοτήθηκε το 1998.
