Kiro Gligorov, the first democratically elected president of FYROM passed away on Sunday at the age of 94.
Gligorov became president of the country in January 1991, when it was still a Yugoslav republic. He led his countrymen through a referendum, in which they voted for independence.

Macedonia News -- FYROM's former PM Ljubco Georgievski blasted his successor to the presidency of the currently rulling "VMRO-DPMNE" party, Nikola Gruevski, in a recent interview to the Radio Free Europa.

A football match incident in Kosovo where Albanian fans burned the FYROM's national flag angered the Slavs of FYROM.
