Swedish Parliament recognizes Turkish Genocide

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Swedish Parliament on Thursday, recognized the Turkish Genocide over Armenians, Pontic Greeks and Assyrians. After a really long debate the Parliament of Sweden officially recognised the extermination of 1.5 million Armenians, 250,000 to 500,000 Assyrians and about 350,000 Pontic Greeks in Turkey, as an act of genocide, with 131 to 130 votes.

We remind that earlier this month, US Congress panel passed a resolution recognizing also the Armenian Genocide. Turkey responded by recalling its ambassador from Washington for consultations.
